Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang had bad news for Borussia Dortmund after Real Madrid match


Borussia Dortmund are used to losing their best players.

In recent years they’ve seen the likes of Robert Lewandowski, Mario Gotze, Shinji Kagawa, Henrikh Mkhitaryan and Mats Hummels all depart Signal Iduna Park.

Gotze and Kagawa would later return to BVB after their spells with Bayern Munich and Manchester United proved unsuccessful, but it was still a hefty blow when they initially left the

Dortmund’s current star man is the forward Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang, the 27-year-old Gabon international who has scored 99 goals in 161 appearances for his current employers.

Aubameyang scored for BVB in their 2-2 draw against Real Madrid at the Bernabeu on Wednesday night but, in his post-match press conference, delivered a crushing blow to the Bundesliga outfit.

Aubameyang, whose contract at Dortmund expires in 2020, admitted that he hopes to play for Madrid despite the fact he currently feels content as part of Thomas Tuchel’s squad.

"Yes [I still want to play for Real],” the world-class striker told beIN Sports, per Goal, “it's a promise I made to my grandfather.

"Right now I feel very good at Dortmund but in the future we'll see."
