Borussia Dortmund are used to losing their best players.
In recent years they’ve seen the likes of Robert Lewandowski, Mario Gotze, Shinji Kagawa, Henrikh Mkhitaryan and Mats Hummels all depart Signal Iduna Park.
Gotze and Kagawa would later return to BVB after their spells with Bayern Munich and Manchester United proved unsuccessful, but it was still a hefty blow when they initially left the
Dortmund’s current star man is the forward Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang, the 27-year-old Gabon international who has scored 99 goals in 161 appearances for his current employers.
Aubameyang scored for BVB in their 2-2 draw against Real Madrid at the Bernabeu on Wednesday night but, in his post-match press conference, delivered a crushing blow to the Bundesliga outfit.
Aubameyang, whose contract at Dortmund expires in 2020, admitted that he hopes to play for Madrid despite the fact he currently feels content as part of Thomas Tuchel’s squad.

"Yes [I still want to play for Real],” the world-class striker told beIN Sports, per Goal, “it's a promise I made to my grandfather.
"Right now I feel very good at Dortmund but in the future we'll see."

This isn’t the first time that Aubameyang has spoken of his desire to play for Los Blancos.
Back in February, he first revealed his wish to wear the famous white shirt of Real Madrid after making a promise with his late grandparent.
"In 2014, just before the death of my grandfather, who was born in Avila 100 kilometres from Madrid, I gave him the promise to play one day for Real," Aubameyang told L’Equipe per Sky Sports.
"It'll be complicated, but this (promise) is anchored to a corner of my heart."
