During his 17 spell in the Liverpool first team, Steven Gerrard played with more than his fair share of top quality players.
Although the Merseyside club never won the Premier League title during Gerrard's time with the club, the likes of Luis Suarez, Jamie Carragher, Fernando Torres, Xavi Alonso, Javier Mascherano - and many more - made sure there was plenty of star quality at Anfield.
However, speaking in a Christmas Day Q&A session with the Liverpool Echo, the former Liverpool captain added one surprising former teammate to the list of players he "loved" playing with down the years.
Having earmarked Suarez and Torres as the two players that shocked him the most with their ability, whilst praising Carragher as his favourite ever teammate, Gerrard then came up with a pick out of left-field when discussing his ex-teammates that he had the best on-field connection with.
"I used to love playing with Peter Crouch at times," the former England captain revealed.
