The Chairperson of the African Union (AU), President Alpha Conde of Guinea, called President Muhammadu Buhari in London on Friday, March 3.
Calling on behalf of leaders of member countries of the AU, Conde wished the Nigerian president good health and speedy recovery.
He assured Buhari that he has the support of all African leaders who are praying for him at a time like this.
This was disclosed in a statement issued by Femi Adesina, the special adviser to the president on media and publicity.
In response, Buhari thanked Conde for the call.
He also used the opportunity to congratulate him on his recent election as AU Chairperson during the 28th Ordinary Summit of the continental body in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia in January 2017.
Buhari wished him a successful tenure, while expressing confidence that Africa will witness improved political stability, security and economic growth during his tenure.
Conde's call follows that of King of Morocco Mohammed VI who called President Buhari on Wednesday, March 1 to know about the Nigerian leader's state of health.
The president left Nigeria on January 19 for a 10 day vacation which has since been extended indefinitely.
According to reports, Buhari's aides are allegedly trying to get him back to Aso Rock in Abuja before the eight-week closure of the Nnamdi Azikiwe International Airport in the Federal Capital Territory if possible.
As Nigerians patiently wait for the president to return, below is what they have to say.
