Benfica defender Victor Lindelof is Manchester United’s No 1 transfer target – but they will have to wait until the summer to sign him.
The Daily Mirror claims Jose Mourinho has already made enquires but Benfica do not want to sell while they are in the Champions League.
That means a January switch is off the table, potentially forcing Mourinho to look elsewhere for a short-term fix while Eric Bailly is at the Africa Cup of Nations.
United reportedly scouted Lindelof again on Sunday when Benfica beat Sporting Lisbon 2-1.
