To commemorate it, the hotel underwent a $100 million renovation of its guest rooms and public spaces.
The renovation included the complete overhaul of the hotel’s 1,060 guestrooms, main entrance, lobby, and meeting spaces. A new library room was carved out and all furniture and fixtures were replaced.
“Boston Park Plaza was thoughtfully redesigned with today’s modern travelers and executives in mind,” says Jon Crellin, managing director of Boston Park Plaza.
The new lobby was designed in a gray and white color palette, floor-to-ceiling ceramic columns, adjustable LED lighting, and new guest check-in stations.
Off the lobby is Off the Common, a new restaurant and lounge that serves breakfast, lunch and dinner.
Guestrooms have all-new lighting and improved acoustics. Each room has a Smart TV with streaming capabilities. Guestroom bathrooms have new white tiles, custom vanities, over-sized mirrors.
The hotel has a full-service restaurant in STRIP by Strega, an upscale steakhouse. It also has a 20,000 sq.-ft. fitness center and CYC Spin Studio.
The Boston Park Plaza originally opened as the Statler Hotel in 1927. Dignitaries who stayed there included Winston Churchill and President Franklin Roosevelt. Hollywood royalty such as Katherine Hepburn and Judy Garland were also guests.
The hotel received a AAA Four Diamond award last year.
