PRESIDENCY SET FOR ANOTHER MEDICAL VACATION
The senior special assistant to the president on media and publicity, Garba Shehu has denied reports that the president has cancelled a planned medical visit to the UK.
President Muhammadu Buhari has not changed his plan to return to his doctors in London, United Kingdom for follow-ups.
According to BBC, Shehu on Thursday, March 30, said President Muhammadu Buhari has not changed his plan to return to his doctors in London, United Kingdom for follow-ups.
Buhari decided to bring his doctors to Nigeria. However the spokesman did not specify when the president will return to London.
He said: “It is false news (that Buhari is no longer going to London). We are not aware of the reported advance movements.
“The last time the President spoke about this, he said he would return to his doctors after some time. We are not aware that this has changed.
The president’s trip to the UK had generated speculation that he was seriously ill with some even saying he had passed away although this was refuted several times by his media aides.
Presient Buhari returned from London on Friday, March 10 after 51-day medical vacation in the UK for an undisclosed illness.
In a related development, Meanwhile, the minister of information, Lai Mohammed said that the federal government’s decision to release the medical expenses of President Buhari was on the basis of national security.
He said: “This matter (the President’s medical bill) has come several times and our position on the matter is quite straight forward.
