Antoine Griezmann |
The Red Devils' interest in Griezmann has been well documented since Euro 2016 and it feels like every week there is a new update on the saga dominating the gossip columns.
With Wayne Rooney in decline, the Atletico Madrid forward has earmarked as the ideal long-term replacement for the club captain.
This has only added more ammunition to the speculation and it would appear that all of the talking has finally got to the 25-year-old.
Once again, Griezmann was asked questions about his future at the Vicente Calderon in an interview with Spanish newspaper AS - but reacted unusually badly.
"I don't like this question [surrounding my future]," Griezmann responded, as per The Mirror.
"I don't appreciate these type of questions about my future because players like Cristiano [Ronaldo], [Lionel] Messi or [Gareth] Bale aren't asked about what is going to happen next year or where they are going to play.
"That's why I don't like it when they ask me either. I'm happy and enjoying myself at Atletico, don't ask me about my future anymore."
A bit tetchy, don't you think?
Nevertheless, the constant speculation must be playing on his mind somewhat.
Last week, it was claimed Jose Mourinho is plotting a £145 million double swoop for Griezmann and his Atletico teammate Saul Niguez, per The Times.
Griezmann hasn't exactly ruled a move out but it just means we are even less likely to hear about a potential switch before it actually happens.
Of course, it is little surprise the French international is being linked with a transfer given his fine 2015/16 campaign.
He scored 35 goals for his club last term and guided Diego Simeone's men to the Champions League final, before eventually falling to arch-rivals Real Madrid at the final hurdle.
But Griezmann revealed that his highlight of last season was actually the semi-final victory over Bayern Munich.
He added: "My best memory of last year was the Champions League semi-final in Germany against Bayern.
"We suffered a lot and saw the team come together, very close, very strong, where everybody gave everything for each other. Naturally, the two finals that I lost were the worst memories."
